Executive Chef Simon Garbutt of Australian Catering Services recently celebrated over 3 decades in the industry.
Born and raised in the UK, Simon honed his craft at the helm of the kitchen in some of Britain’s most exclusive boutique venues including The Feathers Hotel, Woodstock, Babington House, Frome, and The Castle, Taunton.
Moving to Australia in 2006 he started as Head Chef of renowned Brisbane Restaurant, Two Small Rooms, followed by his time at Watt Modern Dining. Simon joined the corporate catering world in 2009 bringing with him a zest for producing restaurant quality cuisine across large scale events. In 2018, Simon found his new home with Australian Catering Services and has since overseen the catering for prestigious events such as Beef Week 2018, Polo by the Sea and is excited to be supporting the Starlight Foundation Gala Dinner for the 6th year in a row.
Simon has spent his career living by the ideals that food should be made with the best and freshest possible ingredients and that simplicity is the key.
